For most ailments of the eye, dilating the eye helps in the diagnosis and hence your eyes have to be dilated. Dilatation drops will be applied to both your eyes, at intervals of ten minutes. While eyes are being dilated, you may experience mild discomfort after the first drop. Dilatation may take between 15-30 minutes and you can be comfortably seated in our lobby.
After dilatation of the eye, the pupil of the eye will stay slightly dilated for a couple of hours. So avoid driving vehicles after dilatation. It is always safe to have an attendant with you.
